So several "lightweight" and short snakes connected in series i
equivalent to one long. Good. And cheaper too. And easier to handle. I'm
looking for 8 channels 30-50m. The 15m ones I've found are 8 channel.
The 30m+ ones I find are all 16+4 channels or more (although not
proportionally more expensive), so...

They are equivalent in all respects except reliability. The cable
entry into a connector is always the weak point, and you will need to
look after them.
