Well.... Inductive or capacitive? Tweeters are quite easy to drive actually
and woofers are way inductive, and harder to drive, especially with all the
back EMF of the long strokers.
PWM class amplifiers are easier and cheaper to design for low frequency
usage because the switching freq can be lowered and the FETs don't have to
be as fast, the designer can also get by on sloppier tolerances for the
filter network on the output side of the amplifier. There are mant full
rance PWM amps out there and they sound fantastic, you just have to pay
more. In car audio land it is the ideal amp for subs because they are very
efficient and relatively cheap component wise.
