I think that you've hit upon a fair analogy. Usenet is a shared, global
resource and therefore depends on the people using it to obey the
guidelines. To those people who respond to points like that with, 'Who
are you to tell me what to do? There's nothing you can do to stop me!',
it's difficult to know what to say.

This is an example of the ideology of 'modern people'. 'I'm alright jack
so **** you buddy!'. The idea of making a bit of a sacrifice by adhering
to the voluntary rules for the benefit of the common whole just doesn't
occur to them. Why should they, if they don't *have* to?



Apparently you have not yet read the RAP charter. It forbids OT posting.

Every society has rules. Those who break them knowingly have boundary issues,
or worse.
