We were there on time and, to my amazement, found out that a club that
has live music on a regular basis wouldn't allow a sound-check.
All clubs I know that do live bands do not allow soundcheck during opening
hours. In fact most require soundcheck to finish upto an hour before
opening to give the barstaff some time to setup.
Also most clubs that do live music have their own technician. they know the
venue and shoudl under most conditions be able to setup for a flying start.
OR did you bring yoru own PA? In that case you shoudl know your setup well
enough to do a flying start yourself..
And lastly, you might be a pro muscician, but that does not mean you are
capable of handling PA. In fact the given you are fiddling with it yourself
means you are not as much a pro as you think you are IMO.
