So I'm thinking I could use the EQ for a drum monitor when using the

15V phantom power ?!! FIFTEEN?!!
So you use it with Behringer's omni condenser "measurement style" mic.
I'll bet that works just fine and you can save your more prescious
mics for things more useful than a spectrum analyzer.
Mackie powered mixers supplied 15V phantom power. It wasn't very
popular. My TASCAM 5 console didn't provide any phantom power, so I
wired it up for 15V since that's what was inside the box. I used it
quite successfully with AKG C451s, and when I got a couple of U87s and
still had that console, I just put batteries in the U87s (back when
you could do that).
Nothing to get excited about. You just have to pick your equipment so
that things work together. This isn't Burger King and you CAN'T always
have it your way, cheap.
