I can't think of the right word for these, so I can't Google them, but
I've been thinking how useful it would be to mount small information
cards or labels next to each piece of rack gear with its patchbay in/out
points, patchbay insert points, normalled A/D converter, normalled
software channel, etc. There's not really enough room on much rack gear
for a P-touch label with all that, at least not readably. But there's
plenty of room right *next* to the gear.
I will probably just print the info out on card stock, punch a hole in
it, fold it semi-nicely and attach it with the rack screws, but it seems
like there might be a market for a proper solution with little
plexiglass holders for business cards, which are really the perfect
size. Basically retail "shelf talkers" turned on their side, with a
flange that can be screwed into a rack. Does such a thing exist?
