Just finished installing a production room for a community radio station.
They decided (without my input...) to go with all Behringer mic pres and
compressors, to save money. This week I finally got to the point of
adjusting the settings on the pres and compressors (remember, this is a
radio station - the engineer sets the stuff and puts security covers on, the
DJ's don't touch the settings).

YECK! First, the things run so hot that I'm sure the electrolytics in them
are going to die within two years. Second, from channel to channel and unit
to unit, the settings and sound are totally inconsistent; if I set up two
units so that the knobs are all at the same position, they don't sound the
same. Which is a pain, when trying to set up identical-sounding guest mics.
And third, the UI is unclear - lots of pushbuttons marked, for instance,
"I/O" without any indication which one is the "pushed in" position.

Just griping...

They got exactly what they paid for.
My condolences...

Recognising what's NOT worth your time, THAT'S the key.
