BIG disappointment for the ears...
That was one hell of a rig just for a vocal and 'body-shaking' kick!?
Seriously, that was all there was until 2nd to last song of the set, when
the kick was FINALLY dropped and the odd guitar solo made a desperate
attempt to reach FOH.
The band changed guitars just about every song, I got to hear only the
acoustic...
Occasionally, I heard the backline coming off the stage in the quieter
(kick/vocal) sections. There was a keyboard player on stage too although the
only audible evidence was a bassline he played in one of the tunes.
Last song of the set - snare and hats have arrived!, followed later by a
hint of cymbals and the sound of distant guitars.
1st encore - the level from sub boxes has now been greatly reduced and the
sound of a band creeps though! This would have been a good 'first song'
sound, if only my head hadn't been made to suffer the previous hour and a
half of abuse.
2nd encore - FOH engineer's appear to have finished for the day...time to
leave...£80 lighter and very p****d off...

For the record, I was seated on the (lower) side tiers, along with the other
70-80% of the crowd. I realise the venue isn't 'ideal', but I've heard
several bands sound amazing from the same position, so this is NOT an
excuse. The tiers had great coverage from the flown arrays, there just
wasn't anything in them!
The backline was pretty big, and pointed straight at the board. This may
account for its lack of existence in the rig? but this IS a professional
sound company right??

Did anyone else go to the gig? What did you think? Where were you
positioned?

Anyone know who the two guys were running FOH?? I'd rather not waste my time
or money next time.
Anyone care to take responsibility??
