I totally boggle at how the same company can make these two products in the
same general price range.. and how the C1000 is the one that sells.
It's because it looks like a more professional mic, and you know how
important that is in choosing a microphone these days. The C535 is
almost always pictured with the windscreen attached and that makes it
look like a stage or hand-held vocal mic (most people think "SM-58 -
EEEK!") that nobody would consider using in the studio - and on stage,
why not just use an SM-58 and be done with it.
If they showed the C535 as a general purpose small diaphragm condenser
mic with an accessory metal windscreen included, it would get more
respect. On the other hand, for many purposes, it may not really be
$100 better than a $100 Chinese mic that looks about the same.
