I lived there from 1970 until 2000.

He's probably the only public official in the state that has any idea of

the
decency and responsibility of public office is all about.

This all depends on whether you think selective prosecution of the law is
decent and responsible.

I cannot believe I am reading
this.

How long have you known him?

I must say
the thing that sets Austin apart from the grime of Dallas, Houston and San
Antonio is that we have people like Ronnie Earle.

Austin isn't much different from those towns any more amigo. That's why I
left, though I've still got ties there so I get to see it's continued decay
and sprawl towards Waco, San Antonio, Bastrop and Marble Falls. Ronnie
Earle isn't any better or worse than any other politically motivated
prosecutor. He's just loved by the liberals there because he selectively
enforced drug laws throughout the 70's and 80's to allow the 6th Street
entertainment district a lot of slack and people thought that was cool to
have a DA that didn't encourage the police to bust bar patrons who were
snorting lines on the mirrored coffee tables of Juan Goldstein's Caviar Bar
and guzzling their Perrier Jouet while they watched the 6th St zoo stroll
by. Everyone though it was sooooo cool that drugs were legal in Austin.

Like everything coming from McKelvy. P

He's right about this. Ronnie Earle has a history of using the office of
Travis County District Attorney for political witch hunts. I've know him

for
30 years and one of my best freinds used to an assistant DA of Travis

County
under Earle. He left in disgust.

It's a well known fact in Austin that he's partisan, they just don't

happen
to care.

going after people who misuse that trust. I cannot believe I am reading
this.

I lived in Austin for many years till a couple of months ago and I must

say
the thing that sets Austin apart from the grime of Dallas, Houston and San
Antonio is that we have people like Ronnie Earle.

That being said... go horns.

Hook 'em.
