Well, I love the sound of Quads but they just won't fit into my small
living room. They are simply too wide. I need a conventional "tower"
speaker. Which one(s) would you recommend?



If you can audition them, you might want to consider one of the Martin Logan
hybrids - electrostatic panels/dynamic woofers. Both their Aeon and Ascent
models (as well as the earlier Aerius and SL 3 models) are significantly
narrower than the Quads, but are taller. No, they don't side like Quads, but
many (including myself) enjoy their transparency, coherrence and lack of
cabinet diffraction effects, not to mention the extremely fast transient
response of the ESL panels.
