judging by how long it's managed to stick around.

Has it stuck around? Last I heard it was no longer being
manufactured.

I've had one on order for months, but there's no ETA in sight.

My Squeezebox works fine, but decided that the Audiotron
approach would be better suited for a multi player setup.
