I can't speak for John or Scott, but in general, I base my audio
opinions on my past listening experiences, as well as on my technical
knowledge.
Wine is like audio you cannot comment if you haven't taste.
That rules out 90 % of the opinions here :-)
While it isn't entirely possible to extrapolate from a certain
topology or schematic how a particular component will sound, it sure
is possible to draw at least *some* conclusions .
Don't you was the one who told me that there's also a kind of
indefinable ratio of magic in it ?
In designing, yes.
Listening can sometimes be an experience of transcedence, but that can
happen on less ideal systems as well.
In the end, the music has to reach your heart. When that happens, it
is good.
Usually, this involves tubes for me.
I don't drink alcohol, so I can't comment on wine.
Pot, however............. :-)
I have on the subject the same opinion than Charles Baudelaire in "Les
paradis artificiels".
This is like the wine you cannot know if you haven't extensively
experienced........ :-)

Sorry, I cannot find an english version.
Like Baudelaire, I wasn't a heavy drug (ab) user as well.
I tried many different varieties of pot, however, so I'm at least able
to tell what is good and what is not :-)
Never touched the stronger stuff though, I've seen too many friends go
down the tubes with that.
These days, I'm just high on my wife and the music.
I cherish my few remaining brain cells .
