I can't speak for John or Scott, but in general, I base my audio
opinions on my past listening experiences, as well as on my technical
knowledge.

While it isn't entirely possible to extrapolate from a certain
topology or schematic how a particular component will sound, it sure
is possible to draw at least *some* conclusions .

I don't drink alcohol, so I can't comment on wine.
