I'd agree with that recommendation, regardless of whether or not he gets a
sub. Plus, make them sealed back, circumaural headphones. Not only will it
keep the sound in better, it keeps other folks sound out, a real plus in a
college environment!

Just make sure itsd weather resistant , because nothing will get you
kicked
out of a dorm like a decent sub.
I would just recomend a decent paie of phones, like senhieser or
something,
and dream of graduation

Hey -
I'm setting up a little stereo for my dorm room, and I have everything
picked out...except for the subwoofer. My background in audio is
mostly in the car, where I have a really nice system that I'm happy
with. However, that system stays parked 90% of the time, where now it
does me no good
So, I need recommendations for a small powered sub that would be good
in a dorm room. Needs to be able to have some serious output on
occansion, and have good SQ. Budget is under $500...firm. Subs I'm
thinking about, to give you an idea of where I'm at:
Adire Rava (seems like the most for the money)
Aperion S-8 (although frankly I have doubts over the output from a
single 8")
any others? please, I'm stuck here
thanks in advance.
