thanks. $1000-1200 may be about my limit, and what I want is just
really good sound quality. I know it's a truck and not a living room
which is why I've been putting in dynamat. As for 'reasonably' priced
speakers, that's not really a concern. This is a one-time expense, and
this vehicle will be around a while as it is in really good shape and
only has 35k miles on it. So I want speakers that are as impressive
compared to the usual suspects as those Oz were that I heard in 1995.
What do you know of besides Oz that are really good? What are your
other favorites? Thanks

TOM ,
First off what kind of truck - make/model/year do you own ? The reason
I ask is there are many "stealth boxes" that integrate into the truck
perfectly . A sub is somewhat essential in a good sound quality system
.. Even an 8" sub powered by 150 watts in the cab will sound great over
no sub whatsoever . You will miss out on so much of the music leaving a
subwoofer out ..
As far as your $1200 max budget , you can EASILY work a nice head unit
, amplifier(s) , LOVELY component speakers , and a subwoofer and
stealth box in on that budget .. If you are worried about lack of space
, there are quite a few very small high quality amps I know of you
could fit under the front seats .. Amps I know for a fact do not get
the least bit hot .. I could help in more detail if you like , just
reply and leave your email .. Pricing is the key here it seems , and I
already have the major pieces in mind .. Reply with your email and get
your new system started ..
