Given all this, Robert, and given the time you've been fighting this
battle, is it not now obvious that McCarty is not going to change,
that his mental condition is in fact deteriorating, and that further
confict with him here or in the real world will cost you at least as
much as it does him? I questioned direct confrontation with him years
ago, and things have only got worse. Is it not now time for a
reappraisal?
The strategy several of have chosen is slow and inexorable.
I agree with your appraisal that his mental condition is deteriorating, and
our small group takes some credit for that.
We are stressing the McCarty organism, and accelarating his deterioration.
Our goal is to induce a massive cerebral or coronary event.
Every day that we cause McCarty's adrenals to put out additional cortisol
(the stress hormone), we are upping his blood sugar, upping his weight,
accelarating his arteriosclerosis, and inducing apoptosis (programmed cell
death) of neurons. I know how to destroy McCarty's body, and it's working
well.
In memory of Steve Zipser, since we've been reminiscing a little bit about him,
Steve would have said something like "Let's get Bwian McDweeby a lifetime
supply of McDonald's cheeseburgers."
Paul, as for the amount of time I spend at this, I spend most of my days in
front of four 21" flat screen monitors hooked up to three computers. Kicking
McCarty takes just a few minutes, and it's a stress reliever like squeezing
one of those little animated dolls that swears. It actually reduces tension.
It has an oddly calming effect on my relations with other people. For one
thing, McCarty reminds me of what every human being should NOT be. He
reminds me of what human relations should NOT emulate.
As for the ethics of this, McCarty can release himself whenever he chooses.
He does not have to do what he does.
As for who is crazier, let the undecided try to have a conversation with
McCarty. It can't happen. He has erased his own identity, possibly as a
result of self-loathing.
