It's 2004 now, so I was just wondering: with those same Henry Kloss
speakers now selling for $60, is there anything out there that will
beat it for under $100? I'm more interested in rich, clear sound than
artificially-pumped up bass ( I listen to lots of classical and jazz

Yes - Roland makes a nice full-rance amplified pair of speakers,
the MA-8. Very good sound for about $70-80. They sound better
than the Soundworks. The MA-12C, though - the larger versions
of the same thing, are stunning and can be had used for about
$100 or so a pair. Literally like comparing Bose to a decent
set of speakers - it's that much better than the Soundworks.
