It will work fine that way.

Hi everybody. I just spoke with a car audio enthusiast and showed him the
gear I bought (not installed yet) and was told it wouldn't be a great idea
to use my amp to power the sub and the front coaxial speakers for some
reason.
My gear is:
MTX 404 4 channel amp (50W RMS x 4)
Kicker K65 coaxial speakers (to be installed in the front)
IDQ10 sub
Headunit: stock double-DIN Nissan Altima HU
I was planning on having the headunit power the rear speakers and run the
amp to power the K65s in the front and also the sub.
I'm not sure why but he seemed to think this wasn't a good idea (something
about not being able to control the bass or speaker levels well with my
HU).
He recommended I buy another 2 channel amp to power the front speakers and
use the 404 to power the rear speakers (which are the crappy stock ones)
and the sub. However I've kind of spent all I'm willing to spend at this
point.
Is there anything wrong with my initial idea (to power the front K65s and
the sub with the amp and power the rear stock speakers with the stock HU)?
Thanks to everyone,
Don
