Default sherwood amp cut-out

Disconnect the speaker wires completely from the receiver and see if it
still cuts off when volume raised. It probably will not, at which time
carefully check your wires for any damage - fraying, punctures from staples
etc. Do not allow even a single strand to lay over and touch the other
conductor or any metal on the receiver chassis. If in doubt, replace the
wires. There is a small chance of a defect in a speaker.

When you say, "about 2 or 3" does that mean 2 or 3 O'Clock position, or

less
than say 1/4 volume?

I mean thess than 1/4 volume, although it can go louder if i turn the
bass right down.
cheers
