I want to hook a Radio Shack Minimus amplifier to a pair (two) Bose 301
speakers.
Does this affect my choice of turntable? I was thinking of a Garage 95,
and
I'm wondering if I can put my ceramic cartridge in it.
Also, how much should I spend on a power cord? I can cut the cable off
the
Minimus amplifier close to the chassis and solder on a high end power
cord.
No flames pleeze! I want only helpfull advize.

If you want really helpful advice, you might begin by not trolling with a
fictitious post. I refer, of course, to your referene to a "Garage 95"
turntable and "ceramic cartridge". While the latter may still exist - if
hardly ever used = the former does not - unless you can cite evidence of
its
existence - past or present.
I am sorry, it is a Garard. It was in the Garage. An honest mistake.
Am I on the right track with this, or should I be upgrading?
Radio Shack has a cheap phono preamp so you can use your amp line in.
Cheap new cartridges are available, as are new turntables.
Enjoy those 301s! The elderly gentleman I knew who owned a pair was
delighted with his.
