Yeah I WOULD rather have ten different microphones for ten different
applications, as I am one of those guys that likes to hear different mics
posessing different "characters" or colorations, so am I wrong? I mea, I
could record everything using nothing but U-87's & EQ as necessary, and it
probably wouldn't suck, but if I can get a mic that sounds terrific on a
certain instrument or voice without using "those knobs on the console",
isn't that a good thing too?
Also, if I wanted to learn what those knobs on the console were for, what
mic(s would you consider to be a neutral-sounding, reliable microphone?
