Hi folks - spent a large chunk of the morning looking for an 8x2 analogue
mixer suitable for classical music recording.

Things I think I need (in no particular order):

1. Good quality balanced input microphone preamps x 8, around 60db of gain.
2. Sufficient phantom power acailable to drive 8 condensor mics.
3. Clean summing bus.
4. Balanced output on either TRS or XLR sockets.
5. Peak/Average switchable metering.
6. Ease of transport. (I do all location work.)
7. Preamp direct outputs.
8. Panning on each input channel.

Things I don't think I need:

1. Eq.
2. Compression.

Anyone got any pointers? I've looked at Allen and Heath, Millenia Media
(can't afford it), Mackie (probably not what I want), Studer (broadcast
only). You get the idea.
