Default Sound card for Sonar + Gigastudio + XP

Yves,
You may be able to find a new Creamware Luna or used Pulsar somewhere.
They are quite popular in Europe, and a great deal. I have 2 pulsars &
they work great with sonar 2.2 & XP (with ASIO, too). I don't know for
sure about gigastudio, but from what I've heard, it's quite stable
with pulsar.

Best of luck,

Hello,

I just wanted to know if You could recommend a recording card to use
with Cakewalk Sonar (V2.2) together with Gigastudio 160 (V2.5) under
Windwos XP.
I bought a Terratec 88 MT some days ago and now I learned, that this
card does NOT support "Multi Application" function under this
settings, because WDM drivers (as used by Sonar) and GSIF (Gigastudio)
can't be handled at the same time by it. There are four possibilities:
1. Working with 98SE instead, but I dont' really want to miss XP
stability.
2. Working with Cubase instead, but I don't want to change to this
software.
3. Working without Gigastudio, but I don't want to miss it's sound and
possibilities.
4. Working with another audio card than the Terratec 88MT. This seems
to be the best possibility.
Now I'm wondering which card I should use. It should have multiple Ins
and Outs, good sound quality (semipro - pro) and a price that is
acceptable to a student. (The 88MT I bought for 250?, and more than
300? I can't afford...) I hope You can give me some suggestions and
hints. Thank You very much!
Yves
