FWIW, I've been very pleased with my M-Audio AP2496, and I record with it
daily using a small mixer and a small pile of outboard gear. Guitars
(electric, bass, and acoustic) and mics, never a clipping problem. But then
again, it could simply be that my ears and my music suck, so wouldn't know
the difference.
BTW, if I had it to do again, I'd probably get the Mia Midi because it has
balanced inputs, or another M-Audio product like the Delta 1010.
