Shhhh! I'm Listening to Reason!

Hm. Let's look at Iraq: A corrupt and ineffective government, a large
US commitment in lives and dollars, belligerent nations just over the
borders, civil war within them, and our government fearful of pulling
out because of what *might* happen.
It makes me wish we had a previous war like this to learn from. You
know, one based almost entirely on political ideology. We could learn
from it. That would probably help us see which path to take. Too bad
there are no wars in our history like that...

"Corruption is an "endemic, pernicious problem" throughout Iraq's
government and concerns U.S. and Iraqi leaders alike, State Department
Iraq coordinator David Satterfield told reporters. "It is not
something we have ever tried to diminish the importance of, or
protect," he said."
Of course not. That's why all of the smoke and mirrors was focused on
the military aspect only. The political side matters not. (Right,
2pid?)
"Waxman sponsored the nonbinding resolution, which states that the
administration abused its power by classifying U.S. assessments on
corruption inside Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government. The
House agreed to the measure, 395-21."
Those damned Dems. At least the remaining 21 republicans in the House
showed their 'courage'.
