Wow the wire melted before the fuse blew? If the fuse was closer to the
amp then the battery it's possible your amp took a hit on whatever
melted the wire. Did you check any fuses or circuit breakers on the amp
itself? Disconnect all wires except for the +,-, and remote and see if
that power light comes on.
