I have started to experience problems with my cd player. Occasionally
when I insert a disc, the player wont read it at times, at other times
it reads but wont play. It occurs with purchased cd's and home made
ones so there is no consistancy to its misbehaving. It is only two
years old. Any similar experieces or helpful advice?

Either the lens is dirty and you need to get it cleaned, or the laser
assembly is out of kilter and a new player is the most economical
solution.
