I have a Clarion 2040 car CD changer that seems to be on the fritz.
Anyone know where can I get this repaired?

It was $650 new, so I want to repair if possible.

You should compute the TTF - time to failure.
Estimate the number of hours turned on per week. Does not matter if it
is actually playing as you care only about the total hours on in the
10 year period.

The problem is that unless you have a total replacement of all major
components you could be fixing for the next failure. Almost any
failure of almost any component will break the unit.

Now you can shop for a Class D amplifier which will consume very low
current if not actually amplifying. Class D is the technical term for
Binary amplifier.
