The quote that follows is from the recollections of one of the
outstanding pioneers of surgery on coronary arteries Dr. Favoloro of
Cleveland Clinic and Buenos Aires.
"The opinions were highly divided. Retrospective and prospective
matched studies and comparison with groups included in life tables
were the methods used to compare the long-term effect of CABG. I still
remember the controversies with George Burch, Charles Friedberg,
William Licoff, Henry Russek, Henry McIntosh, and many others. Even
though we were sometimes on opposite sides, we never got involved in
personal issues. On the contrary, the more we debated, the greater was
the level of mutual respect and deep friendship"

I'll bet all of those people were smart.

Yup smarter than Ludo, whose claim to fame is that he invented a straw man
about ABX a few years back, and has been doing little but trolling RAO with
it ever since.

even the straw man can hear differences that you are unable to
discern!

Thank you for crediting me with unprecedented durability (is this the
right word?). and quasi universal knowleddge of biographies of
scientists. Carrel' greatest achievements took place before I was
born: in 1912. To be honest all I knew about him was that he gave his
name to the "Carrel's cubicles" in medical libraries. On reading your
challenge
I promptly typed "Wikipedia" and learnt that Carrel was not just
"suspected" but in fact held disgusting views about improving the
humankind by eliminating the unworthy in gas chambers. He was an
extreme proVichy, proNazi partisan during the WWII.
It is true that I lived through one of the most shameful periods of
history :in Europe of the past midcentury. Various people (including
myself) held views of which they repented since. Others merrily
participated in crimes. Medical profession does not come with
saintliness. Besides such as Janusz Korczak.who went to the gas
chamber holding the youngest orphanage kid by the hand there was Dr.
Mengele.who sent them there

There are musicians who hear differences between a Guarnieri and a
corner store violin or a Bluethner piano and a Yamaha and there are
Kruegers. Kruegers are an overwhelming majority. Suggestion #1 :don't
project your disabilities onto the mankind at large. Suggestion #2:
read H.G. Well's novel about the country of the blind who considered
sightedness a punishable heresy.

The implication being that nobody in the world named Krueger can tell the
difference between say a Yamaha piano and a Stineway?

> Kruegers are an overwhelming majority.

That's obviously a false claim. While Krueger is a common germanic name,
they are far less than 1% of the world's population.

If we could get you to follow that advice Ludo, the world would be a
slightly better place.

If your memory was still up to snuff Ludo, you'd know that the name of that
book is "The Country Of The Blind". Been there, done that. It is sort of
how I feel when attempting to communicate with many of the RAO regulars,
like the Middiot, ****R, Jenn, and Art.

In what way am I "blind", Arny? Your opinion would be interesting to
hear.

It's your failure to recognize Arnii as the "Eminence Brune" of Usenet
audio. That, and the fact that despite all of Arnii's prayers, you're
still a woman.

Who could predict that after all these years our Krueger still takes
RAO postings literally , word by bloody word. More suggestions: Look
up : "figure of speech", "metaphor" and "humorous". You ARE a barrel
of fun. And while you're at it look up how to spell "Steinway". I
know , I know all that "acoustic" music! Enough to drive Kruegers ( a
metaphor: stands for musical simpletons). insane

I was right. You are a barrel of laughs. Kruegers ie. musical
simpletons are an overwhelming majority. Get it- or should I try
again?

Nice to know you read a book once.. And thanks for your valuable
correction . Wells' book is not "about the country of the blind". It
is "The Country of the Blind". You see, I'm a quick learner.

Suggestion #4. Stop worrying about who insulted yourt ABX. Get down to
work and produce ONE SINGLE, statistically valid report where a
representative panel hears a difference between any two comparable
audio components.
And don't tell me to define "comparable". I leave it to you. You're
the engineer, I'm a layman..

Just do it. 50 years have already gone with you keeping posterity
holding their breath..

Yes, you lack the ability to have any meaningful discussion with

Since when did "communicate" changes definitions to "Beat into
conformity with unwanted responses that always miss the point"?

Let's see if I can accurately portray good old Arns' positions:

1. Vinyl sucks. I hate it, hate it, hate it!

2. You are stupid to spend over about $200/channel on amplification.

3. Preamps, CD players, DVD players, and cables make no difference.
Buy the cheapest possible and spend the rest in a "responsible" way.

4. I get beat up by the pros, so I come to RAO to "win."

5. I cannot realize that people who feel differently, assuming that I
am correct, are only hurting themselves and that, therefore, it is
none of my business.

6. I imagine insults and slights where none exist.

7. I am quite insane.

Did I miss any, Arns?

That would show remarkable restraint. I get a little nauseated when
Krooger comes out with a gem like that.

Krooger would tell you to include acknowledgement that he is the "Master
of the Debating Trade".

My view is that no list of Krooger's attributes can be complete lacking
a reference to feces.

I deliberately stayed away from the human waste dimension. I did not
want to give insane old Arns the opportunity to argue what foods leave
the best texture, for example.

Arns has a harder time staying focused than 2pid does.
