Hello Folks,
First time poster --- I bought a used car recently. Under the seat is
a Pionner AVM P8000R. I presume this is the 'amp,' receiver and 'head
unit' of my system. In the dash is a Pioneer AVX P7300DVD. This unit
consists of a mechanized 7" screen, and DVD player. Can any of you
tell me what additional parts I need to get navigation on this set-
up.
The manuals that I've downloaded form Pioneer show a 'navigation unit'
plugging into the RGB plug of the AVM P8000R, but it dosen't indicate
a model number. Pioneer says I need an AVIC 80 or 88 DVD, but that
unit looks like it would replace the AVX P7300DVD, which sems like a
waste. I have seen navigation units, like the Pioneerr AVIC N1 on E-
bay. Would that plug into my 'head unit and work? Where do the 'maps'
reside? Does the AVIC 88 have a navigation head in it? It's all a
little confusing to me. Anybody got any advice? Thanks
