View Full Version : FM radio
Hello i have a mitsubishi galant 97 and our FM radio tuner can only
get only a few stations for some reason. We use to be able to receive
mostly all the stations. So we checked the antenna and tried puttin
in a new one and that didn't work, same problem. So we installed a
new kenwood deck and still the same problem. We still only receive a
few stations and the rest are static....what else can i try?
If the antenna is on the right fender check wher it enters the car the
connection may have pulled apart

The antenna cable is most likely broken or shorted somewhere.
Buy a piece of Coax at radio shack and the right connectors and run a new
cable.

Doesn't anyone read for proper comprehension? He stated that he tried a new
antennae

Observe your own reading comprehension skills before being so
quick to scrutinize others. One reply mentioned the possibility of a
damaged cable and the other reply a possible inadequate connection.. two
different components of an antennae *system*.
By the way, how exactly does one "read for proper comprehension"?

Amp?
If you are running an amp, try unhooking the power and see if your
signals come back. Certain amps are known to kill your fm signals
