About 2 weeks ago I installed a Sony MEX-DV2000 Multi-Channel/Super
Audio/Dolby Digital/DTS car radio in my 01 PT Cruiser.

I am pleased to report that this is the best sounding system I have had the
pleasure of using. More than adequate power over an extended audio range,
very low distortion and very clear sound. Soon I will add the Digital AM/FM
box, when it hits the street, and see how that sounds with this unit. Except
for the fact that I can't scan through tracks on a disk it is just about
perfect. It also plays video DVD disks but I don't have a monitor on my
system. It cost just over $200.00.

I knew that Sony would come out with their new SACD players this
year... might be something I might want to get in the future. Can you
play mp3 DVD's on it, or is it just DVD-Video? That would be cool if
you can put the mp3's or wma's all on one DVD... that way I would
rarely have to change the disc. 279 dollars is not that much for
something of that caliber.

MP3's?

All I know is that I played my 12 year old some of my hybrid multi-channel
Super Audio disks in my car and then he asked to plug in his iPod. His first
question to me was why the iPod recordings sounded so bad. Yes, you can hear
the difference, it is huge. (We use a higher than default bit rate when
ripping).
