This old 10wpc Pioneer integrated is a nice sounding amplifier. But, it sure has an odd ball plug-in for loudspeaker hookup. I've not seen an amplifier with this setup before. It probably was short lived as a design for obvious reasons (incompatibility) although not without merits because it operated just like a regular two spade AC receptacle.

Pioneer speaker plugs can be had. Sometimes on eBay; Pioneer still lists
them, the part number is AKM003 - listed at 8.46 each.
800-457-2881 is the phone number in the US.

And if that don't work...a couple of crimp-on spade lugs of the proper
size can be made to work fairly simply. For what they ask for the
original plugs, that would be my solution unless for some reason I
wanted complete authenticity.

I quite agree, except I have a couple sets laying around anyway...
I've seen old style AC power plugs used, with one spade turned 90 degrees.

Yeah, I've got one around here someplace, too...remember seeing it some
time ago. I just don't have an amp or receiver of the correct vintage
anymore to plug it into. I believe they quit using them around 1974 or '75.

I've NEVER seen this guy respond to any replies to his posts. I think
he's just phishing for more traffic at audiobanter.com (the site
hosting pics from his posts).

Hmmm, not sure. I'll have to ask him!

I decided to donate the amp along with a few other audio peices to the local charity. Decent sounding amp with a small footprint yet with some heft. Should make someone happy...
