View Full Version : audio program recommendation?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a low end/low cost, or freeware/
shareware program to record radio programs off the internet?

I'd like to record programs such as Car Talk, Prarie Home Companion
and even the web version of The Daily Show, to listen to later while
driving.

I've looked at a few; such as Amadeus II and Audio Hijack Pro.

1. What low end programs have you used and might recommend?

2. Is there any other way to do this, other than playing the whole two
hour program, and recording it at the same time? For programs that
don't offer Podcasts, but you can listen to old shows online.
Recording in real-time takes too long and I must have a slow DSL
connection, because I get some pauses in the playing and recording.

I have a Mac, with OS X.

Thank you,
Bill

When I wanted to record a netcast, Audio Hijack was the recommendation I
got. There's a cheaper version, I think.

Good luck!
