Modified Multiface (refurbished?)

I've seen claimed modified (possibly refurbished?) RME Multiface I's,
with claimed 116dB S/N. It's stated to be derived frm Fireface 800.
Anyone know about this? Does RME undertake such mods?
I wrote RME about it, but haven't had a reply yet.

FWIW, RME replied they aren't aware of any such modifications, and they
cirtainly don't do such.
Interestingly, the shop (thomann.de) where I saw them announced, wrote
back all info were off the RME site.

Whatever, after this long time of looking at merchandise, I finally
shopped a used Multiface I at a fair price. Should arrive next week.
