I know there are still a few Jukebox 3 users here, so I'm asking among
my computer-smart friends before I go to the Nomad forum and show my
ignorance.
I did this occasionally when I first got my Jukebox, using the
Creative Play Center program (long discontinued) that came along with
the Jukebox. While not the greatest MP3 encoder, It was simple and
intuitive. After having some conflicts with other audio programs, I un-
installed the Play Center program from most of my computers. I use the
Nomad Explorer program for moving recorded files between the Jukebox
and the computer and that works fine.
I was just sent a CD that I want to load on to the Jukebox for my next
plane trip, and I realized that I just don't know how to do that. If
that function is available in Nomad Explorer, I haven't been able to
find it. I know I can use CDEX to extract audio files from the CD,
then convert them to MP3 files (just to save space, not a requirement
on the Jukebox) and then move them to the Jukebox and organize them as
an album using Nomad Explorer, but there's got to be an easier way.
I'm wondering if I already have something here that will do the job as
conveniently as the original Creative Play Center and I just don't
know what it is. Windows Media Player recognizes the Jukebox and
recognizes a CD in the drive, but I don't see a way to copy the CD to
the Jukebox. That could be something that Microsoft just isn't going
to let me do. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
So what's the easy solution?
