firewire with cooledit pro 2.1

Has anyone recorded with firewire on cool edit pro 2.1? Did you record
in multitrck mode? In doing so did the audio feed come across into the
pc in multiable tracks or all on one track?

It is very much dependent on the specific hardware and
the drivers that go with it. IME, multi-track sound arrives
as "stereo pairs" because that is how MS Windows expects
to see it.
