An Altec Lansing "Coke Bottle" tube condensor. I think the model # is
"21 D."

Altec Cokebottle. You'll also see them on the covers of a couple Benny
Goodman albums. It's an omni with a tube follower, based vaguely on
the Western Electric 640AA design but cheaper to make. For the most
part they sound like the cheaper and more common lipstick mikes. Not
a whole lot of top end detail by modern standards, but a whole hell of
a lot more than the alternatives of the day.
