Having read some comments in here about some having had problems getting
the M-audio LightBridge working correctly, I delayed my interface
purchases for a while.
AFAIR, possible driver issues was mentioned. I don't remember if the
chosen platform (PC/Mac, XP/OSX) was mentioned alongside the problem.

Yesterday I talked to a major shop in here in Cph selling those. I was
told the first LightBridge version had firmware problems, and some units
were replaced on that account, but they hadn't had problems since.

If that is so, I may as well stop worrying.

Any of you having had whatever problems who can confirm this?

I use it on mac osx and only at 44.1khz but it works llike a charm for
me. Gives me 16 tracks in and out of PT plus a 2 mix in and out, so I
can mix itb OR on a console. And I've had absolutely no issues with
it. BUT i seem to recall you mentioning in another thread you want to
do 96 an i don't have any experience with it there.

Good to know it works well for you.
Well... having read some comments on sample rates from the guru's here,
I don't think 96Khz will matter to me. Further, some of the outboard
gear I can envision seems to work at mostly up to 48Khz.

I wrote this to the ADAT thread, but no reps as yet...

Having read that thread, I may choose such a card over the Lightbridge,
as in a forseeable future I can only envision limited outboard gear,
most likely with S/PDIF, so a card with ADAT for the ADA8000, S/PDIF's
and MIDI should do just fine.

One issue is that some digital I/O cards like RME 9652 (+WC addon)
doesn't have analog out for speakers and headset. I should have enough
outs for that in the ADA8000 (+ a separate head amp), but still find it
handy having those features in the Lightbridge.
Are line and headset outs in the Lightbridge good enough for monitoring?

For my use, I'm not sure I'll need wordclock, though readings on the
subject seems to suggest many devices works better with a low-jitter
wordclock than with their internal clock.

I know RME is renowned for a very stable low-jitter wordclock.
How does the (mentioned) competition stac up here?
Importantly, how good is the Lightbridge wordclock compared to RME?
