Does anyone have a suggestion for sourcing a a few of these switches?

I am having some repairs done to my MCI-JH desk and I need six of
these.

#SP7000-2305-16

They have stopped latching...

Who makes them? Are they the notorious ITT Schadow ones that are now
discontinued or are they from some other manufacturer?

That number looks like an MCI house number which is probably not useful to
anyone today, but knowing the original manufacturer and their part number is
probably helpful.

You can always try Boynton Studios, who are the real MCI gurus, and will have
ideas on a substitute.

If they are the Schadows, it is often possible to do surgery and repair the
mechanism on them.

You will almost certainly have to get the genuine part. Console
switches (and often pots as well) tend to be very specialized, often
custom configurations made by a switch manufacturer for the console
manufacturer and they're not standard parts.

I'd suggest that you take out a small loan and call Blevins Audio
Exchange in Nashville. He sells and repairs MCI gear and has a pretty
good stock of parts (and he knows that nobody else does). You WILL pay
through the nose if he has them, but unless you can identify the
original manufacturer and they're still being made, Randy is probably
your only hope other than finding modules on eBay that use that switch
and buying them for the parts.

Old gear is a bitch when it gets old.

Are they really? When did that happen?

I was thinking Blevins, if he's still around.

Blevins is still around and they are good also. Didn't Harvey buy a console
from him?

Scott,

Boynton turned me on to Blevins. Randy has been responsive and on top of his
game.

8 switches on the way soon with a few 4 pole and 2 pole as a good measure.
His prices are decent too.
