Upgraded to Audigy 4 from SB 5.1 now (previous) Sonar 5 projects won't play + other assorted problems.

Hi,
I run a PC with XP Pro SP2 and Sound Blaster 5.1. My software is Sonar
5, Soundforge 6 and Project 5. I recently upgraded my soundcard to the
Audigy 4 in order to improve audio latency by using the ASIO drivers
contained within but now none of my previous projects (or anyone
else's) will play unless I use the WDM settings on the Audigy which is
a bummer. If I start a new project using the ASIO settings, no
problems. Any idea's?
The Audigy has also caused other problems in that none of the samples
that come with Project 5 will play but ordinary WAV files will. (The
Audigy is not listed in the MIDI or Audio I\O sections of Project 5,
only the SB!!.)
Also, (big breath) because the Audigy doesn't come with a MIDI input
there is nowhere to plug in my MIDI keyboard, so I've replaced the SB
and am using that together with the Audigy. Could the two soundcards
be causing some kind of conflict?
As you can tell I'm quite new to this and would appreciate any help
providing it doesn't involve buying a pro card for loads of dosh which
I don't have.
