View Full Version : EMU 1212m quirk
January 26th 07, 02:50 AM
I'm using Sonar Producer 6 and a recently acquired EMU 1212m
I'm using the updated ASIO drivers - everything looks okay.
Measure 1 beat 1 contains a kick drum as part of the drum into - the
EMU for some reason
isn't playing back the kick drum - however when I shifted measure one
to measure 2, there were no problems. My Delta 66 never did this - why
isn't the EMU picking this up as it
should? I certainly shouldn't have to do a measure shift to make it
work.
Tech support scratched their heads over this one.
Thanks

Does that happen on all tracks?
Weird!

If it is midi track, I guess you have played that first note (in measure 1)
upbeat. It has to start at 0.00 or later
If audio, then I have no idea.

What's your latency? If Sonar doesn't use some sort of pre-roll and
starts playing instantly when you hit the button, the first x
milliseconds (x being the output latency) will always miss. Otherwise it
would need to travel back in time and start playing the audio early so
it is right on time.
I recommend having the first note in bar 5, it's always good to have a
some space there so nothing gets lost when you record.

this was for audio, not MIDI. Might be a good addendum to what Mr. + has
written.
