View Full Version : problems with behringer ddx3216

hi guys,
it's ryo writing from italy.
i've been using a behringer ddx3216 digital mixer with a 2xADAT expansion
with my DAW since about 3 years.
now i have a problem: even with no attached cables, every some tens of
seconds any analog inputs "receive" a (short) signal at about -20db.
the strange is that not only i can see the fader leds on for a while, but
even the "signal" leds on the input pane go on. just like if something were
attached in the inputs and generating a signal.
do you know if there's something i can do before carrying it to the
assistance?
thanks in advance

These things are generally not user-servicable at all. If it was, and
you were qualified to service it, you'd be into it already and coming
in with more detailed questions.
Have you relocated? Or has something that creates EMI (radio
interference) moved in next door? Industrial machinery? Medical
facility?

Can you record and post a chunk of it? What it looks and sounds like
is the number 1 diagnostic.

Grounding problems? Check your studio power?

My guess would be the internal power supply to the analogue circuits. Could
be something as simple as a dirty connector inside the desk. Sudden drops
of voltage to the IC's will produce audio spikes. Try banging the desk with
your hand - do the lights flicker with mechanical shocks?
Gareth.
