I'm looking for wiring advise on the following:
I have a Rotel multi channel amp (8channels). Four pairs of speakers are
connected to each of the 4 channel sets. My primary zone/room #1 has a
Boston acoustic Sub and a pair of Boston acoustic 8ohm speakers. I would
like to have both these speaker components be controlled by a single Niles
Volume control which feeds directly into the amp. It's been recommended
that I run my wire from the volume control into the sub and then from the
sub out to the speaker pair. I prefer not to do this because of the
unsightly wires that would be run all over the room.
I think the neater way to do this, would be splicing the sub and speaker
wires together, and feeding a single joined connection into the volume
control. The problem with this is the doubled up 14gauge wire will not fit
into the Niles speaker inputs. I'm currently using monster cable flex pins
to join the wires together which seems to be working. But it is still a
very tight fit into the volume control and they are sensitive to movement
comprising the connection on the right or left inputs.
Is there any other way to do what I want to do? Or is there a speaker wire
splitter box or hub that would give a more durable joint of the sub and
speaker wires?
