View Full Version : Remote Control needed

December 13th 06, 05:23 PM
Does anyone know of a place where I could obtain a remote control for a
JVC XL-M301 CD player.

It was a gift from some neighbors who moved, and while it functions
fine in every aspect that I can determine, it is missing the remote.

I've done some checking and have not found anything on it except that
it is always mentioned as "vintage." I take that to mean, that it is
several years old but was always considered to be a good piece of
equipment.

TIA for any help in this matter.

JVC parts department:

A remote for another JVC CD player or stereo might also work. There are
plenty of those at www.eBay.com.

I assume any universal remote control would work. You can buy universal
remotes at Radio Shack, Target, Kmart, Best Buy, drugstores, or any
other place that sells consumer electronics.

You might already own a universal remote. Also, some cable and
satellite TV remotes are universal and can be programmed to control a
CD player.

Do you have any remotes that sound like the above?

If I were you, I'd probably buy a $10 universal remote and see how that
works. Or you could buy a new DVD player with remote (which will also
play CDs) for maybe $50 and give the old JVC CD player to a Goodwill or
other charity store.

I'm guessing it's 10-15 years old. Should be a competent CD player.

I was hoping to find the model that came with the cd player, so I could
get my learning remote to take over it's functions. I really don't
need the clutter of any more of these devices than I already have.
Ebay sounds like it might be a way to go if I can't get one from JVC.

duh.... I just tried it and THE VERY FIRST HIT led me to a solution.
Fortunately, I don't have the same kinds of problems as you because you're
a professional retard.

Do you read bedtime stories to your spawn, Mickey? Here's one for you:
"Beware the God-monster! It devours science and crashes airplanes into
buildings! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!"
