Hi --

After buying a pair of speakers, I now realize that there is a whole
lot more involved than I thought.

My speaker wires have no terminal on either end, just the raw ends.
Does this mean that I can only use a receiver with spring-clip
connectors or ... can I just buy some replacement speaker wires that
are raw on one end and have terminals on the other?

The specs for my speakers say "120-watt maximum input power." Does
this mean 60 watts for each speaker or 120 watts for each speaker?

In the instructions there is a caution about not using a receiver with
a wattage range either below the speaker or in excess of the speaker,
but a tech representative from Sony suggested a 100 watt receiver.
That confuses me because it would seem to violate one of these caveats.

My preference would be to use these speakers with a modest AV/surround
sound receiver. Is this possible? If so, would appreciate any
suggestions for something in the low price range that would work with
these speakers and also has an S-video connection.

I know that's a lot of info to ask for and I appreciate your patience.

Thanks.

Not necessary. You can connect raw ends to most receivers without
adding terminals.

The latter.

I would not excede the maximum rating (120w) but lower ratings would
likely only result in a limitation on maximum volume which, in all
likelihood, should not be an issue for most applications.

Yes.
