View Full Version : Radio swap, 2000 Cougar and 2003 Ranger

November 19th 06, 02:52 PM
I am about to buy a 2003 Ford Ranger with a base model radio that has a
broken power / volume knob. I also have a 2000 Mercury Cougar with a
nice radio, it is the one with CD and tape. I want to pull the radio
from the Cougar and put it in the Ranger.

I think the Cougar radio will slide right in, but will the wiring match
up? Delivery of the truck is a few days days away, so I have not had a
chance to pull the radio.

Any input from people that have worked on these things would be greatly
appreciated

Thank You,
Mr. Mile

I just looked up the wire harness for each of those units and they use
different harnesses

Thanks! Can I buy an adapter, or do I need to make one?

Thanks again,

Mr. Mile
