has anybody heard of these guys? audio addictions of mason city iowa,
a kid named chad orfield owns the place. there was a decent audio
store in there before. but obviously, there's a new crew in there, and
i was just wondering if they've built up any internet etiquette to any
of these guys. it appeared that they were just hanging out looking at
magazines - shootin the ****. so i thought maybe the internet could
tell me a little bit more about these guys.

Actually, I haven't heard of any in Des Moines/Ames that have MB Quart
anymore. There was a place on the south side of DM, but it went out of
business a few years ago. Haven't seen anyone else pick them up, and of
course their site doesn't show dealers for the US. You might try giving
the number of their car audio rep a call though.

Sorry, was out of town for a few days.
Cyclone Stereo in Ames is pretty good. Joel does excellent install
builds and they don't try to screw you over. Talk to Travis, the general
manager. Also the more you buy the more they're willing to drop prices
for you.
Ford and Garland and Car Sounds in Des Moines carry a bit of equipment
but are centered around install than showroom. Haven't dealt too much
with them as Ford and Garland is a bit overpriced.
Music on Wheels in Clive I'd just stay away from as they are all around
shady. Overpriced, don't seem to have much (last I knew) and try to rip
you off. I had to get some power and speaker wire for an install for a
friend and it was the closest to his location. They charged for each
side of the speaker wire, so paid for 6' of speaker wire and got 3'.
They also only sold Monster Cable power wire which has the plastic core
in the middle to make it the same size as others, but has less coper
strands inside. I'd stick with pretty much any other brand. Cheaper you
get the copper you pay for.
There's a new place, ICE Truck Works in West Des Moines sounds
promising, but I haven't been in there to see what its all about. They
have a bunch of accessories for trucks/SUVs, but the first part is ICE:
In-car Entertainment. I've heard from people its pretty good. Don't know
about pricing though.
