If there was ever a post that called for a smart arsed
comment then this would have to be it ;-)

It's something that's created when someone sits a long time waiting
for an email that never arrives.

Resisting temptation on Usenet is like being a good Catholic and using the

I haven't had the pleasure, though I hope to someday. I was within 10
miles of his location yesterday.

BTW, on this trip I made my usual trip to one of the best audio stores
and the BEST LP store that I've yet visited: Stereo Unlimited in San
Diego. A great time.

Hey, big sale on Allisons! (Assuming the webbsite is the same as the
store.)

Just the thing for that guy on RAHE who doesn't want to stay in one
place as he listens.

That's weird: the site that comes up says Stereo Unlimited in Google
but is the site for Stereo Design. SU is on Sports Arena Blvd and is a
great store. SD is on Claremont Mesa Blvd. I haven't been there in
years. IIRC they were a Linn dealership. SU is a much superior store,
IMHO. And they have this large room of fantastic new and used LPs!

It's a really fun place. GOSH the Mission Bay area was beautiful this

The emails you've sent me have had some weird stuff in them:

"Do you ever clean your house naked, Shhhh!?

"Do you dry your head or your rear first after showering?"

"Would you mail me a pair of socks that you've worn? I'll pay for
postage!"

But there was not one mention of fantasy.

As I told you, it's morbid curiosity. Now quit emailing me, OK?

No, but a block away is a place that was so important to me and my love

That's not the result of a 'borg attack, regardless of what Krooger might

I bought a Tom Waits album from Stereo Design many years ago on a visit
and heard a boring Martin-Logan multi-channel system. ML has improved a
lot since then.

I may have visited SU as well. I remember a room of classical lps and
that they didn't have their good turntables running, although they've
probably fixed that by now a decade later.

Perhaps you missed my other post in which I noted that it has been a
decade since I visited. You've inspired me to research a contemporary
event: my visit was probably during the third week of June, 1997, a
little less than a decade ago.

No, I was keying off how vague your post was. But, I managed you to clarify
it.

1997 was a long time ago in audio years.

"Appointment only when I visited. They had Dunlavy and Meridian as well

Note that Mr. MeLcroy can-not admit his lie's directly.

Thanks Stehpen for admitting Mr. MInE that you were ticketed-often for
lying about Dunlavey Mr. McReloy.

I agree that "9 1/2 years" is so much clearer than a "decade".

> 1997 was a long time ago in audio years.

Of course it was. I was interested in the new Meridian multichannel and
"digital" speakers at the time. Big ole Dunlavys, too. My brother
compared them to refrigerators.

Fortunately for common sense, the topic to which I responded was "audio
stores in San Diego," oops, make that 'audio stores in San Diego'.

The speaker brand was present in the store under discussion.

It's not all that creepy, given all the name-calling that goes on at RAO.

For example, who is "Krooger"?

I think the intent of that nasty little piece of work is well known. Ditto
for "toopid".

Possibly! They probably got snootier during the computer stock bubble,
nicer after the crash, and are now approaching previous levels.

Believe it or not, Krooger answers to almost anything you call him,
including Mr. ****, ****-for-Brains, TurdBorg, AutoLiarBorg, and many
others.

Kids are usually easily amused.

So which is it?

This list is getting waaaaay too long:

"I didn't retire because I never served, I was incarcerated, I was
kicked out, or I was too young to join."

Would you care to add any more?

You were having an affair with the Commanding Officer?

I think that would fall under "I was incarcerated or I was kicked out."

How about, "Because I failed the entrance requirements" instead? That
may be redundant with "I never served" though.

While a small percentage of people who did not finish high school may
be admitted to the military, once they are in that fact alone would not
cause them to be unable to retire.

Here may be a better catch-all (although it would require yet more
typing on my part): "I was advised to leave for the good of the
service." That could catch things like sleeping with the General's
daughter, and so on. Not enough for incarceration, but probably a
distinct career-ender.

Far too honorable.

Not that you would make a good judge of that, but "Yes, dear."

Not getting a GED isn't inherently dishonorable either, but whatever.

"I was forced to leave for the good of the service."

There. That should cover it for you.

All happy now, toopid?
